Inside Vietnam: Cambodia Laos

Insider Experience: Laos' ethnic minorities

Meet our Luang Prabang "Insiders": the directors of the wonderful Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre.

Luang Prabang's Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) is a non-profit museum, shop & café dedicated to preserving the rich diversity of Laos' ethnic minority cultures. While anyone can wander around a museum and read a few exhibit labels, we'll ensure you have a deeper experience at TAEC.

Allow us to introduce you to two very special "Insiders": the directors behind the non-profit centre. Ms Tara Gujahdhur and Ms Thongkhoun Soutthivilay and are experts in the ethnology and anthropology of Laos. Their enthusiasm for the preservation of culture, customs and crafts in rural ethnic communities is infectious.

During a private meeting with either Tara or Thongkhoun, you'll learn about the challenges facing Laos' ethnic communities, and the way TAEC's sustainable tourism initiatives are tackling these issues.
