A solo cultural adventure in Vietnam

Made for Rebecca, by Keely

Rebecca was ready for her first solo adventure in years. Leaving her teenage kids back home, she set off on a Vietnam trip made just for her.

She’s not one to sit still for too long – so Keely built her a trip that was action packed, with days spent biking, trekking and paddleboarding, with time built in to connect with people that call Vietnam home. Like the Hanoi musician, who demonstrated how to play the T’Rung over tea. And the Pu Luong family who showed her how rice is hulled by hand. With time on the water in Lan Ha Bay and a well‑earned beach stop at the end, Rebecca’s solo adventure was shaped around her curiosity and opportunities for connection.

Rebecca didn’t just want to see Vietnam – she wanted to meet the people behind the places she visited, actively exploring while she was there. That meant finding the right balance of cultural connection and physical activity. We built her itinerary around that: time spent biking through rural villages, kayaking in Lan Ha Bay, and learning traditional skills from local families. Vietnam has so much to offer, but when you’re travelling solo, having someone to piece it all together – in a way that matches your interests – makes all the difference.”
