Monk walking under temple arches

Our favourite Cambodia routes to inspire your trip - or start from scratch

We’re not a fan of off-the-shelf itineraries. We don’t all like the same foods, wear the same clothes, or have the same interests — so why would we buy identikit holidays?

That’s our philosophy, and it’s why every one of the following routes is designed to be adapted to suit you. Add destinations, take them away, make it longer, shift the focus: it’s all about what you want to get out of Cambodia, not what we think you should. Whether you use one of these itineraries as a starting point or build one from scratch, our role is to take your ideas, add some suggestions of our own, and make it happen.

Build in a few days to take in the temples of Angkor, but beyond them there’s a whole country full of ruins, colonial towns, beaches and rainforest to discover, and a myriad different ways to do it.

The itineraries in this section represent some of our very favourite Cambodian journeys, but they’re just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to possibilities. If they’re not for you, that’s OK. We’re here to bring your ideas to life, so tell us what you’ve got in mind and we’ll design a trip that’s tailored to you.

Our favourite places in Cambodia

Covering an area smaller than Oklahoma, Cambodia is small, round, flat, and over 50% forested. That last part’s pretty significant: in Southeast Asia, only Borneo has more continuous rainforest, which makes Cambodia one of the best places in the world to explore the habitats of endangered species such as Asian elephants, Indochinese tigers, clouded leopards and Asiatic black bears.

Here's our guide to the best known, plus some lesser known favourites.
