Your journey commences in the sleepy capital of Vientiane. Settle into the slow paced Laotian lifestyle, and take in its colonial past as you enter your lovingly restored 1930s hotel. Sample local cuisine on a night "safari" in the city, before enjoying a private audience with a local weaver at her workshop over cocktails and canapés.
From here you will journey northwards to explore the dramatic landscapes of Vang Vieng. Discover this spectacular mountainous region by bicycle (optional), and see some of the most dramatic limestone cave systems in Asia.
Swapping rambling countryside for a tranquil city, you will continue to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Luang Prabang where a century-old former French Governor's colonial mansion will be your base. Wander the ancient streets, and take an "insider's" tour of the town to visit Buddhist archives, and meeting local experts and museum directors. Head out of the city to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfalls on the outskirts of the city; you'll have the opportunity to try your hand at Laotian cuisine here during a private cooking class.
Travelling onwards into the rural and mountainous countryside, arrive at Muang La: Laos' answer to the mythical Shangri-La. In this stunning and remote region, you will climb aboard a four-wheel drive to traverse mountain roads, take hikes through minority villages, and sink into natural hot springs. In the evening, retire to an enchanting lodge on the banks of the Nam Pak River.
For a scenic end to this incredible adventure, take a slow cruise along the Mekong. Gliding through mountains, forests, jungles and local villages is made even more magical with a G&T in hand. Sit back and watch this relaxing scenery all the way to Luang Prabang.
