Beginning your foodie journey, take to the streets of the Old Quarter in Hanoi with a local food blogger as you are taken on a whirlwind introduction of one of the most interesting, colourful and flavoursome street foods in the world. Enjoy a home cooked dinner with a local family and discover the secrets behind the preparation and cooking with a hands on cooking class at an illustrious chef's family home.

From here head into the rural countryside for two nights at a homestay in a local farming community where you will be able to get your hands dirty and feet wet helping the farmers with rice cultivation and harvesting.

A short flight brings you to the ancient UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An. Venture into the surrounding countryside to explore serene villages on foot, visiting an organic farming project and meeting with locals over lunch. Home cooked food is always much tastier and much more authentic and once again you will enjoy a home-hosted dinner for an insight into this areas gastronomic traditions.

Driving over the stunning Hai Van Pass brings you to the ancient capital of Hue, and as well as taking in some of its ancient imperial sites, take a local festive lunch of salt rice with a culinary master and head out into the streets on a traditional cyclo for an evening with a street food blogger. Visit hand-picked local family-run venues that serve the best authentic local foods.

Ho Chi Minh City is modern, vibrant and daring, especially when it comes to its food and the next few days will act as a fitting end to your Vietnamese gastronomic journey. Begin with its main historical and cultural sites before hopping on the back of a Vespa for an evening of culinary fun with a choice of either a foodie tour or to experience the best craft beers that the city has to offer.

Spend the day in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam's largest rice production area, for an insight into the local farming and fishing as well as small cottage industries specialising in the production of rice paper, popped rice and coconut candy. And enjoy your final day in old Saigon at a local chef's home where you will explore a wet market, share stories about food, learn about the host family's daily life and local culinary culture before joining her in the kitchen for a hands on course of Vietnamese cuisine.

End your culinary adventure in style with a sunset cruise on the Saigon River before continuing with an adventurous tour of Ho Chi Minh by night on a vintage Citroen 2CV, sampling regional delicacies, mingling with locals and seeing some of the city's famous sights, backstreets and bustling nightlife.
