Singapore could keep you busy for a lifetime, but if you’ve only got three nights — here’s how we’d do it.
Colonial history? Check. Boat ride on the river? Check. Some of the best gardens, food and light shows in the world? Check, check, check. Add an intro to Singapore’s cultural trifecta — Indian, Chinese, Malay — and you’ve got the perfect mini-break in one of the greenest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world.
Transport in detail
Singapore is a one-stop destination, which means no transfers! While you’re here, you’ll get around on the excellent MRT (subway).
With a little of everything, this is a short, sweet introduction to what makes Singapore special
There’s an incredible range of accommodation available, so you can easily upgrade to swankier digs
We’ve mixed guided experiences with independent exploration to give you the best of both
Things to consider
Guides in Singapore are pretty pricey, so if you’re a confident traveler you might prefer to save money and do more independently
This trip focusses on highlights, so don’t expect anything off the beaten track
If you want a dazzling intro to Singapore’s futuristic, fun-loving Marina Bay area, the trippy, lasers-and-lights extravaganza of the Spectra light show is the perfect place to start. From here, discover the city at its prettiest: after dark on a bumboat tour. Then, explore its cosmopolitan roots on a day tour of Chinatown, Little India and Malay-Muslim Kampong Glam (we’ll leave you to decide which has the most delicious street food!) Finally, use your free afternoon to visit the Gardens by the Bay, where eco-domes house plants from all over the world, and towering “supertrees” turn rainwater and sunlight into energy. Singapore has so much diversity to offer, there’s no time to hang around!

Singapore has gone all-in on gardens, and the vast and beautiful Botanic Gardens are where it all began. We recommend taking time to explore its greenhouses filled with delicate orchids, and wander beneath its rainforest trees as tall as 20-story buildings. Then, when you’ve had your fill of greenery, squeeze in some retail therapy in the hipster shops of nearby Holland Village. The food here is amazing – but try to resist filling up! Tonight you’ll be heading out on a guided tour of the city’s famous hawker centers, where generations of chefs have honed their specialties to a fine art. Some have even earned Michelin stars, so bring your appetite! On day four, it's time to head home.
