Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar
The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, with its 99m gold leaf gilded central stupa, is by far the most photographed pagoda in Myanmar. Getting a snap that stands out from the crowd is no mean feat; InsideAsia tour leader David beautifully captured dusk falling over this amazing building during a Magnificent Myanmar Small Group Tour.
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
As the largest religious monument in the world, Cambodia’s Angkor Wat has also been the subject of many photographs from InsideAsia travellers and staff this year. It was a close call, but this stunning reflection by InsideAsia tour leader Richard during our Indochina Encompassed Small Group Tour tops the lot!
Hoi An, Vietnam
Red lanterns lead the way for InsideAsia traveller Simon during our Vietnam and Cambodia Uncovered Small Group Tour. Traditional Vietnamese lanterns create a beautiful atmosphere in many towns across the country; experience them in all their glory during one of the monthly Full Moon Festivals in Hoi An.
Between Hoi An and Hue, Vietnam
It was as much about the journey as the destination for InsideAsia travel consultant Grant when he stumbled across this amazing scene between Hoi An and Hue in Vietnam. After he took this photo, a young couple arrived to take wedding photos at this spot – very scenic!
Mandalao Elephant Sanctuary, Laos
InsideAsia Senior Product Exec. Chris embarked on an amazing trek through Northern Laos earlier in the year. One of his absolute highlights was visiting the Mandalao Elephant Sanctuary, a non-riding elephant experience that focuses on education and animal welfare. He found it impossible not to be in awe of these amazing creatures!
Hoi An, Vietnam
Few places are as immediately recognisable than Hoi An in Vietnam. For centuries Hoi An was one of Asia’s greatest trading ports, attracting merchants from across the continent and beyond. This influence from all comers of the globe is still reflected in the architecture and character of the town and it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site back in 1999.
Koh Rong, Cambodia
No filter needed! InsideAsia Senior copywriter Georgia discovered the beauty of Koh Rong, Cambodia on her visit earlier in the year. We challenge you to find a more perfect beach setting.
Stupas at Indein, Myanmar
There are so many gilded stupas to explore in Myanmar. This amazing photo from Senior Product Executive Madeleine was snapped in Indein Village near Inle Lake, home to over 1000 stupas.
Hanoi, Vietnam
Award-winning food writer and journalist Diana Henry enjoyed a gastronomic tour of Vietnam, courtesy of InsideAsia. Her first stop was Hanoi, where she paused sampling Vietnamese foodie delights to take this wonderful snap.
Bagan, Myanmar
A vast plain scattered with over two thousand ancient Buddhist stupas, Bagan offers one of the most spectacular landscapes in Asia, if not the world. It was stunningly caught here by InsideAsia tour leader David.
