Food & Drink vacations

One of the best things you can do when you arrive in Asia? Follow someone who knows where lunch is.

A guided food tour is one of the quickest ways to understand a new place. Spend a few hours with someone who knows what they’re talking about and you’ll soon know what to order, where to eat and which stalls are worth joining the queue for.

After that, you can graze with confidence – grabbing an early morning bowl of pho at one of Hanoi’s markets, or trawling the blocks of food stalls in a Taiwanese night market for noodles.

Drinks are part of a country’s dining scene, too. Pull up a stool in one of Ho Chi Minh City's coffee shops or see how long you last in Korea’s late-night bar scene. Either way, the people-watching is half the fun.

And if you want to get properly stuck into the food, take a cookery class. We recommend them a lot, partly because they’re fun and partly because some of our favorites support community and charitable projects too.

Learn a few tricks. Eat well. Take a few recipes home.
