Day 1-3

Siem Reap

Performers from Phare, the Cambodian Circus - Paul Bloomfield
Highlights:

Explore the temples of Angkor: among the most impressive man-made structures on the planet

Enjoy a romantic champagne cruise at sunset on the moat of the ancient city of Angkor Thom

Marvel at the incredible acrobatic storytelling of Phare, The Cambodian Circus

Visit the unusual pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei

Three days aren’t enough to take in Angkor’s 1,000+ temples, but you can make a start! With a local guide, you’ll cover the most famous sites: the giant faces of Bayon, the root-strangled ruins of Ta Prohm, and the piéce de resistance: Angkor Wat. The temples are the main event, but Siem Reap has so much more to offer. We’ve balanced your historical explorations with a champagne cruise, a show at the incredible Phare Circus, and time to yourselves to relax at your hotel.

Accommodation
Transport

Day 1:
Car transfer from Siem Reap airport to town (15 minutes)

Day 4-6

Luang Prabang

Kuang Si Waterfall - Luang Prabang
Highlights:

Dodge the daytime crowds with a romantic picnic breakfast at the otherworldly Kuang Si Falls

See the town from a different perspective with a sunset cruise on the jungle-fringed Mekong and a bike tour of the laneways

Meet the residents of MandaLao, where former working elephants come to live out their retirement in peace and quiet

Have your marriage blessed in a traditional Laotian baci ceremony

Welcome to one of the most picture-perfect towns in all of Asia: Luang Prabang. Against a backdrop of golden-roofed wats, elegant French-colonial cafés, and the jungle-fringed Mekong, you’ll spend the next couple of days exploring by bike, boat and on foot. Stop in at museums and temples, visit elephant and bear sanctuaries, climb Mount Phousi for stunning views, and pedal through quiet neighbourhoods lined with wooden houses and tropical gardens. Breakfasting in solitude at beautiful Kuang Si Falls is particularly magical, and your traditional baci ceremony at That Luang Temple will guarantee an auspicious start to married life.

Transport

Day 4:
Car transfer from town to Siem Reap airport (15 minutes)
Flight from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang (1 hour 40 minutes)
Car transfer from Luang Prabang airport to town (15 minutes)

Day 7-8

Hanoi

Eating Pho on the streets of Hanoi
Highlights:

Explore a hidden side of Hanoi on a backstreets walking tour

Make like a local and zip through the streets on the back of a vintage Vespa

Sample the capital’s most delicious dishes, from infused rice wine with buffalo jerky to pho noodles and make-your-own spring rolls

For us, Hanoi is all about getting beyond the historic sites and into the heart of city life. You’ll begin with our favourite alternative walking tour, which starts with some of the classics (Hoan Kiem Lake, St Joseph’s Cathedral), then diverges from the norm to explore tiny alleys, take a train ride through the city’s neighbourhoods, and meet a family who’ve lived in the same French townhouse for generations. Then, it’s time for a real Hanoian “must-do”: a ride on the back of a vintage Vespa. Dodging through the crowds, you’ll hop between some of the city’s most surprising gastronomic hotspots — including a café on the railway tracks, Vietnam’s oldest church, and a famous jazz club.

Transport

Day 7:
Car transfer from town to Luang Prabang airport (15 minutes)
Flight from Luang Prabang to Hanoi (1 hour 20 minutes)

Day 9-10

Lan Ha Bay

Halong Bay view - Grant Ekeland
Highlights:

Skip the crowds on Halong Bay in favour of its lesser-known neighbour, Lan Ha Bay

Watch the dramatic karst scenery go by from the top deck of a traditional Chinese junk

Choose from a range of excursions, including kayaking, cycling and trekking on jungle islands

It’s time to slow the pace on a romantic two-night cruise on Lan Ha Bay, the quieter (but no less beautiful) sibling of Halong Bay. Drifting between towering, jungle-covered pinnacles, relax and soak up those Lost World vibes from the comfort of your luxurious suite and private balcony. If you can tear yourself away from the boat, there are optional excursions to nearby islands, plus a full menu of wellness activities, including t’ai chi, tea tasting and “singing bowl” meditation — all against the backdrop of some of Earth’s finest scenery.

Transport

Day 9:
Car transfer from Hanoi to Lan Ha Bay (2.5 hours)

Day 11-15

Hoi An

Romantic couple with Hoi An lanterns
Highlights:

Relax at your beautiful boutique hotel on the white, sandy beaches of Hoi An

Get something made-to-measure at one of Hoi An’s world-famous tailors

Shop for souvenirs under the glow of multi-coloured lanterns at the night market

Hoi An has it all. A tropical beach fringed with palms. An impossibly pretty World Heritage town centre lined with canary-yellow merchant houses. Laid-back cafés serving ca phe sua da on the banks of the Thu Bon River, and restaurants serving some of the best food in Vietnam. It has rural outskirts dotted with farming villages, boat-makers’ workshops and cooking schools, and markets brimming with jewel-coloured lanterns, tailor shops and trinkets. Seriously, you couldn’t make it up. Drink cocktails on the beach, shop ‘till you drop at the night market, cycle into the suburbs, or spend your days in search of street-food treats. This is one of Vietnam’s most popular destinations for a reason.
