Inside Asia Tours: Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos

Trekking in Ha Giang

Explore Vietnam's stunning northern mountains, hiking through steeply terraced hillsides between ethnic minority villages.

Ha Giang, nestled between the Lo and Mein rivers, is a great destination to start an active adventure in northern Vietnam. The area can be accessed either by car or overnight train and walks can vary from a leisurely half-day tour around the paddy fields to longer treks deeper into the mountains, staying at homestays and visiting local families.

The scenery in the northern Vietnamese highlands is second to none, and Ha Giang and the surrounding villages are home to a fantastic diversity of indigenous cultures, each with its own traditions and local costume. Less developed than its more famous cousin Sapa, the Ha Giang region is a must for anyone keen on trekking with an interest in Vietnam's minority cultures and glorious natural scenery.

We can arrange treks lasting anywhere from a day to a week - but whichever you choose, you're sure not to be disappointed by this stunning region.
