Inside Asia Tours: Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos

Ock Pop Tok craft morning

Learn traditional craft techniques from local experts by the banks of the Mekong River - a glorious setting for an excellent experience.

Ock Pop Tok (meaning 'East meets West') is a non-profit organisation seeking to preserve traditional weaving techniques - a trade that was once an important source of income for many Lao families but is slowly fading out as modern technology has evolved.

The day's programme will give you time to tour the weaving workshops before the Ock Pop Tok staff give a brief explanation of the silk-weaving process, from the initial stages of creating the dyes to the final process of loom weaving.

After the demonstration comes the fun bit - getting to try it out yourself! You'll get a chance to mix your own dyes and weave a little something to take home.
