The Nam Ou is a tributary of the Mekong that carves a dramatic path through the mountainous landscapes of northern Laos.

The dramatic Nam Ou River provides access to the remote minority regions of northern Laos, using the small settlement of Nong Khiaw as a base. Cruise upriver to visit ethnic minority settlements, don your leech socks and trek out into the jungle, or kayak through the breath-taking scenery.
