Inside Asia Tours: Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos

Sunrise at Pre Rup Temple

Experience the magical atmosphere of sunrise at an ancient temple - without the crowds to be found at Angkor Wat.

Though much less famous than sunrise at Angkor Wat, this promises to be no less beautiful - and certainly much less crowded. You're sure to enjoy watching the dawn break around this pyramid-shaped temple surrounded by a sea of rice fields all the more for being far away from the crowds.

Pre Rup was built by King Rajendravarman in the middle of the 10th century and consists of three tiers carrying five lotus towers. Pre Rup means 'turning the body' and refers to a traditional method of cremation: this suggests that the temple may have served as an early royal crematorium.
