Our team at InsideAsia Tours
The sun never sets on the InsideAsia Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) and here you can meet the people behind our Southeast Asian tours and holidays.
We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of travel, foreign cultures and a passionate desire to share that with other people.
From the accounts department, through the travel consultant teams to the tour leaders and guides on the ground, you can rest assured that everything we do is to make sure you have the best possible experience in Asia.
Lawrence's interest in Japan was born out of a friendship with his Japanese neighbour whilst studying at university.
As he learnt more about Japanese culture, food, traditions and TV programmes from his friend, Lawrence was persuaded to take a ten-day holiday to Japan in 2007. Little did he know that this would be the beginning of a love affair with the country - leading him to move to Japan upon completing his degree in 2009.
Lawrence spent the next five years teaching English in Honjo, a city in northern Saitama Prefecture. Working in an "eikaiwa" (language conversation school) he had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, from schoolchildren to businessmen, civil servants, housewives, retirees and more. Learning about their lives was one of the chief joys of the job, and has given Lawrence a fantastic depth of insight into Japanese culture.
Lawrence's interest in the travel industry was piqued after his family visited Japan for two fortnight-long holidays. He enjoyed planning their trips and guiding them around Japan so much that on returning to the UK in 2015, he joined our Bristol team as a travel consultant.
In his free time, Lawrence is a keen music fan and dab hand at the bass guitar. He was even part of a band before his move to Japan!
