Bird-watching at Inle Lake

Bird-watching at Inle Lake

For birding enthusiasts, the quieter corners of Inle Lake are home to a wonderful diversity of bird life.

Myanmar (Burma) boasts 1,017 recognised species of bird, and today you will get the opportunity to explore the local area in the hopes of spotting a few of them. Ornithology in the country is currently underdeveloped despite Myanmar having one of the most varied and diverse bird populations in the world, but your chances of seeing unusual species are high (seasonally dependent). You'll also likely spot some more common migrant water bird species which have made their homes on and around the lake.
