The pristine Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago is a little-known paradise consisting of more than 800 islands extending over thousands of kilometres to the south of Myanmar (Burma). Although not far from the heavily developed Thai beaches of Phuket, this beautiful chain of islands in the Andaman Sea has thus far escaped largely untouched by mass tourism.

The archipelago is famed for the quality of its diving and snorkelling, as well as its remote and unblemished beaches. One of the very few developments is the Andaman Resort on Macleod Island - a remote and breathtakingly beautiful island covered in dense jungle and surrounded by crystal-clear waters. It may not be the easiest place to get to, but the journey is more than justified by the glorious, desert-island seclusion that awaits.
