Danang Map

“Danang is one of those places that many people choose to bypass, but with glamorous new accommodation options opening up to make the most of Danang's glorious beachside setting, those who do visit are glad they did!”

Enfys Maloney, Team Leader

Danang is Vietnam's third largest city, after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively. Situated almost equally between these two cities in Central Vietnam, and as the only international airport in the region, Danang is often used as a gateway to this part of the country, but is worthy of time in its own right. The excellent beach gained fame as China Beach, the GI R&R centre during the Vietnam War, and it remains a popular option today, boasting a full range of international quality resorts and hotels.

From Danang it is a two hour drive north ovre the wonderfully scenic Pass of Ocean Clouds to the former imperial capital of Hue, and a short forty minute drive down the coast to the lovely trading town of Hoi An. Many of the resorts in Danang offer complimentary shuttle buses to Hoi An, such is its popularity.  Although not all visitors choose to stay over in the town itself there are plenty of good restaurants, the excellent Cham Museum which holds a fine collection of pieces from the nearby My Son ruins, and other attractions which make it well worth a visit.
