Cambodia and Vietnam are two of the most diverse, cultural and creative countries in Asia. On this 16 day tour we will traverse these astonishing destinations whilst getting beneath the surface and learning about local customs, industries and creative arts. From rice farming to traditional dance, from local fishing to lantern making, and from beautiful boutique hotels to rural homestays, this tour is filled with unforgettable experiences.

We'll begin our tour amongst the ancient temples of Angkor, once home to one of the most powerful empires on earth. Indulge in your creative side learning how to carve wood and stone with a local artisan and venture out into the rural countryside to uncover the secrets of rice farming or fishing.

Enjoy an unparalleled performance of Phare; the Cambodian circus before journeying to Cambodia's lively capital, walking its backstreets, discovering its hidden communities and taking part in traditional dance and music lessons from grand masters.

Our next destination is Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam's bustling centre of commerce. As well as taking in the major sites of the city, enjoy learning traditional ceramic making and paper folding with a local social enterprise.

Leaving behind the modern metropolis, fly to the beautiful port town of Hoi An, with its ancient streets and shop houses. Venture into the surrounding countryside to explore serene villages on foot, visiting an organic farming project and meeting with locals over lunch. Also visit the impressive Lifestart organisation and under the tutelage of a local artist, uncover the secrets of the Vietnamese language and lantern making.

Journey north to picturesque Ky Son, staying overnight at the Moon Garden Homestay, a small boutique-style resort on the edge of the village that will give you the chance to engage in traditional rural activities. Surrounded by paddy fields and farms, this is the perfect setting to get stuck into some ploughing or tea harvesting, to take a leisurely cycle ride amongst villages and pagodas, and to try your hand at Vietnamese cooking.

The penultimate destination is Hanoi, Vietnam's fascinating capital, with its labyrinth of small streets and vendors. Journey out to sample some of Asia's most renowned street food and take a 'behind the scenes' experience at the home of a passionate seventh-generation puppet maker and performer, before enjoying a home-cooked dinner with a local Hanoian family.

The trip ends cruising around Halong bay and its astonishing limestone karst mountains jutting out of the sea, a peaceful and serene way to end your hands on adventure.
