Honeymoons accommodation across Indochina
The Park Hyatt (Ho Chi Minh City)
The Park Hyatt sits in the very heart of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, surrounded by the colonial heritage of District 1: the Opera House, City Hall and Notre Dame Cathedral, and in easy walking distance of a huge range of fantastic dining options. The hotel accommodation offers the style and sophistication associated with the Park Hyatt brand; great restaurants and a large outdoor pool that offers a cool oasis amongst the throng of the city.
La Residence Hotel & Spa (Hue)
The elegant, art-deco La Residence, is widely considered the finest accommodation in the historic city of Hue. Originally constructed in 1930 as the official residence of the French regional governor, the property has been thoughtfully extended in recent years and transformed into a sophisticated but relaxed luxury hotel on the banks of the Perfume River. The grounds are tastefully landscaped around an attractive pool; the lobby and public spaces decorated in dark wood and Imperial purple (including a claret-beize pool table in the lounge) with elegant art-deco touches. Rooms are well-appointed, spacious and comfortable with their own private balconies.
Sofitel Legend Metropole (Hanoi)
The iconic Metropole, located in the centre of Hanoi close to the Opera House and Hoan Kiem Lake, ranks amongst Vietnam's finest and most distinguished colonial hotels. The hotel is a historic landmark in its own right, having played host to visiting dignitaries and celebrities for more than a century. The original wing of the building dates back to 1901, with glamorous, high ceilinged rooms decorated in dark woods and subtle Vietnamese touches. The modern Opera Wing is a tasteful addition, echoing the style and character of the original wing. The hotel has an attractive central pool and bar, and a range of excellent restaurants.
Maison Souvannaphoum (Luang Prabang)
This historical and refined boutique hotel in the heart of Lunag Prabang is great for exploring the nearby markets
The Maison Souvannaphoum is a charming and historic boutique hotel in a great location not far from the night market. Fortunately it sits just outside the protected UNESCO World Heritage area which means this hotel can have a swimming pool, and it's a lovely oasis of tranquillity in a quiet spot behind the restaurant. The main building was once the residence of the late Prince Souvanna Phouma, four-time Prime Minister of Laos, and so the whole hotel offers a refined blend of French colonial architecture with Lao motifs. Guest rooms are not huge, but well designed and decorated with traditional dark Lao furniture and modern red touches. All have good en-suite shower rooms.

The buildings are all authentic Cambodian houses built between 1957 and 1974 which have been collected from across the country and restored into wonderful, stylish bedrooms at this resort. Each room has its own unique character, and having been beautifully restored with air conditioning, fans and en-suite bathrooms make the perfect sanctuary from the city for guests. This traditional yet contemporary accommodation is just five minutes from town and also has a lovely onsite restaurant. This hotel is also great for families as the rooms are all specious enough to put in one or two extra beds.
