Our Family Indochina itinerary captures what we believe is the essence of a great family holiday: a trip that combines unique experiences that all ages will enjoy, activities to keep hands and minds engaged, and plenty of down-time to relax by the pool or on the beach. Read more >

Jump straight into your Vietnamese adventure with a tour of the nation's capital by cyclo - the unique Hanoian take on the bicycle rickshaw. Visit the interactive Museum of Ethnology to learn about Vietnam's incredible diversity, take in a water puppet show, explore the bustling markets and discover delicious street food with the guidance of a local food expert.

Leaving the city behind, head south to Ninh Binh for a cycle ride through towering limestone scenery and lush green fields, stopping off in local villages to get a feel for rural life. The following day you'll explore Cuc Phuong National Park and the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, getting your first taste of Vietnam's ancient steamy jungles.

A cruise on Halong Bay is a highlight of most Vietnam journeys, but the chance to fish for squid and swim in the warm waters of the bay make it an especially great experience for families. Next, Hoi An is the perfect place to slow the pace of the trip with a few nights of relaxation at a lovely beach resort just a few minutes from the atmospheric old town.

To keep you busy, we've arranged a day of hands-on activities in the countryside, including planting rice, riding water buffalo and casting a traditional fishing net - and you can also have a go at knocking up local dishes at one of the excellent cookery classes in town. If that just sounds like a lot of effort, just relax by the pool or on the beach.

Your final stop in Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh City. From here you visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, where you can climb onto old US tanks and crawl through the warren of underground tunnels that concealed Viet Cong fighters throughout the war.

The holiday concludes with what will undoubtedly be a highlight for the entire family, as you fly over the border to Cambodia and the truly astounding complex of jungle-clad temples at Angkor. Two days of Indiana-Jones-style exploration by bike, on elephant-back or by tuk tuk are sure to finish the trip in unforgettable style.
