Wildlife Walk in Beng Per Wildlife Sanctuary

Explore the varied habitats of some of Cambodia's rarest and most endangered species.

Located in Betreed in the northern plains of Cambodia, the Beng Per Wildlife Sanctuary is home to some of Cambodia's rarest and most endangered species including banteng (wild cow), pileated gibbons, silver langurs, barking deer, sambar deer and numerous species of birdlife, as well as many important archaeological sites.

There are a number of adventurous options guests can discuss with the local wildlife guide to make the most of any specific interest. Head out along the many trails through the national park on the hunt for birds, butterflies and wildlife and explore at your leisure the varied habitats from dry to evergreen forest. The sanctuary is extensive and there are a multitude of things to see and do and ways to explore. Take a challenging hike to the top of the mountain, cycle around Angkorian era 'cave-temples' and ancient quarries, or even traverse a saddle of the mountain on 300m ziplines with astonishing panoramic views. Or for the less adventurous, just relax on the platform watching the wildlife basking in the evening sun.
