Inside Vietnam: Cambodia Laos

Jungle trekking in northern Laos

Explore the dense jungle and small villages in the hills surrounding Luang Prabang.

Venture just outside the historic town of Luang Prabang and you'll find yourself in a world of jungle-clad mountains and lazy rivers: the perfect stomping ground for hikers. As most visitors stick to the town centre, this is a side of Luang Prabang Province that not many people get to explore.

As you leave the town behind, you'll trek through dense vegetation and past a number of small villages, where you can stop to eat lunch with a local family if you choose. The jungle is interspersed with waterways and you can end your trek by catching a boat back into civilization.
