Inside Vietnam: Cambodia Laos

Swimming at Kuang Si Waterfall

Swim in the turquoise waters Kuang Si Waterfall and explore the surrounding woodland.

Kuang Si Waterfall, located 32 kilometres from Luang Prabang, is actually a whole series of waterfalls - cascading down many limestone tiers as it wends its way through the forest. At each level the waterfall creates beautiful, turquoise pools that are perfect for swimming on a hot day, and very popular with locals and tourists alike.

Meanwhile, if when you've had enough of swimming, the surrounding jungle and dense woods are filled with wildlife and interesting flora, making this an excellent spot for a walk. There is also a bear sanctuary nearby where you can see animals rescued from poachers and the illegal pet trade.

Please be respectful in this area - there are several pools at the base of this waterfall and one is closed to swimming as it is deemed a sacred site.
