Diving in the Myeik Archipelago

Diving in the Myeik Archipelago

For centuries the Moken sea gypsies have lived off the bounty of the Andaman Sea. Discover these underwater wonders for yourself!

The Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago is a huge area of the Andaman Sea composed of over 800 islands scattered over thousands of kilometres. The lack of development in the area thus far has enabled an amazing variety of flora and fauna to flourish, both above and below the water.

This part of Burma is renowned in the diving world for the quality of its marine habitats, with world-class reef systems and a fantastic diversity of underwater life. Above the waves, it is home to beautiful, deserted beaches and dense, untouched jungle. One of the very few developments is the Andaman Resort on Macleod Island, from where diving and snorkelling can be easily arranged. The area can also be accessed by yacht - a truly exceptional experience.
