What's great

This trip includes some of the very best luxury experiences and properties available in Cambodia

All transfers are overland, so you’ll see much more of the country than you would on domestic flights

The itinerary moves at a leisurely pace, so it’s perfect for those who like to take their time

You’ll see all of Cambodia’s beautiful rural landscapes: palm-fringed rice paddies, vine-entangled temples, charming villages and towns, and tropical coastline and islands

Things to consider

It’s not a great idea to stay on the beach during monsoon season (May to October)

The journey from Song Saa to Phnom Penh is over six hours, so you might want to reconsider if long car journeys aren’t your thing

The cruise from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh only operates at high water

The experience

This itinerary includes the crème de la crème of Cambodia, but it’s far from set in stone. Want to see or do something specific? Fancy an extension in Laos or Vietnam? We can organise almost anything you like — all you need to do is ask.

Day 1-3

Siem Reap

Every visitor to Siem Reap is here for the temples, but few get to experience them like this. Accompanied by an Angkor archaeologist, you’ll begin by touring the park in a vintage Jeep, combining the most famous spots with a few lesser-known gems that most tourists miss. Then, you’ll get an entirely different perspective on the ancient city as you take to the skies — soaring over Siem Reap by helicopter and flying over 100 km north to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea. These jungle-clad temples are just as spectacular as those nearer town, but because of their remoteness they rarely see visitors. It makes for an unforgettably atmospheric experience.

Sunset at Angkor Wat

Take in the scale of the Khmer Empire with a helicopter ride over some remote Angkorian ruins

Relax by the pool and enjoy some of the many pampering services at your luxurious Siem Reap accommodation

Day 4-8

Aqua Mekong Cruise/Phnom Penh

Getting off the beaten path usually means roughing it — but not on this trip. With the supremely luxurious Aqua Mekong as your base, cruise from Tonlé Sap Lake to Phnom Penh as you eat food designed by a Michelin-starred chef, enjoy therapeutic treatments in the onboard spa, and watch the scenery drift past from an open-air Jacuzzi. Along the way, you’ll stop to take part in carefully chosen excursions, including a bird-watching tour in a UNESCO biosphere reserve, and visits to silversmiths, silk weavers, potters and palm-sugar producers in floating villages around the lake. Then, it’s back to dry land for a tuk-tuk tour of the capital: our favourite way to see the sights.
